Juicing with Greens
I am still on a big green kick, you just can’t get too much in the way of green veggies. This juice may look a little bit strange being green, but don’t judge it by color. The juice actually tastes decent and goes down easily. This green juice recipe is one that I make at least twice a week and even my husband, who is not much into health food, thinks it tastes pretty good. The green juice assures that you are getting the vegetable nutrition that you may have been missing on a day or two of being busy and skipping your veggies.
Benefits of “THE GREEN JUICE”
- Tons of dense nutrients
- Gives natural burst of energy
- Drink before your dinner to provide digestive enzymes and to curb appetite.
- Helps balance the body’s Ph level to more alkaline (Very important for meat eaters!!)
- People will be green with envy on how hot this drink makes you look!
The juicer that I personally use is just a cheap one I picked up at Wal Mart. It is a Jack LaLaine power juicer. I think it was like $79. It has been invaluable and provided lots of drinks. Some people complain about the labor and time involved in taking apart and cleaning the juicer. The key is to clean it immediately after making the juice before the vegetable fiber has time to dry out and stick. If you do it right away it only takes five minutes, AND YOU AND YOUR HEALTH ARE WORTH IT!
Here is a simple recipe you can begin with:
Run all of the following ingredients through your juicer:
7-8 Large Leafs of Swiss Chard or Kale
3 Celery Stalks
1 Green bell pepper
1 Chunk of ginger the size of an ice cube
Squeeze of lemon, not through juicer, but right before you drink the juice.
Please let me know if you have any questions about juicing or if there is any interest in arranging a juicing class or webinar.
